I have a Toshiba satellite m45-s265 Laptop. Dos anyone know how to turn off the display, and keep it off while I work ( I am using a KVM switch). Commen sense tells me its probably an F key, or something like that, but can't find it anywhere....

    thanks in advance

    sub,
You could just set the backlight timeout to about a minute when you want to shut off your monitor. Or use your screensaver, set it to a black background, and set it to activate after 1 minute of non-usage.

    Let us know,
    Ben

the problem is, if i were to do that. once I switch cpu's with the kvg switch and moce the mouse, its going to kill the screensaver. my monitor is a different size of my laptop display. so when I use the kvg switch and boot the cpu, it cfg's to my actual monitor, not the laptop display, so there are bars on the side ( kinda like if you had a HDTV and what you were watching is not widescreen, you have the bars on the side), i just don't want the bars to get burned into my laptop display...

    again, thanks in advance,
