    Will This Setup Work With Windows 7


    I just bought a computer for Dell and was wondering if the hardware will work with Windows 7.

    AMD Sempron™ 140 (2.7GHz, 1MB)
    AMD Sempron™ 140 (2.7GHz, 1MB)
    Genuine Windows Vista® Home Basic SP2, 64-Bit
    16X DVD+/-RW Drive
    2GB2 Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM3 at 1066MHz- 2 DIMMs
    320GB4 Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache™
    Integrated ATI Radeon HD4200 Graphics
    Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio

    Sounds like it will but be sure to consult Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor (Download details: Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor ), it will tell you if anything won't work but I'm sure 7 will run like a charm on that setup.

    I haven't gotten the system yet, but I will be sure to use Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor when it arrives.

    I would give it 2GB more RAM, especially with x64, It will be faster.

    Sure it will work. But x64 makes most sense with 4GB and more, and it is faster too. I chose x86 for my 3GB system and have x64 on my 4GB system. But to tell you the truth, I like the x86 better - up to now at least.

    I'll upgrade the Ram later, but here is another question will Windows 7 32 bit work on this systems because it is what I bought for my current computer.

    Sure, 32bit is default.
