    TomTom 730 GPS not recognized

Since installing Windows 7 Home Premium my TomTom isn't found by TomTom Home. The device isn't visible in Windows Explorer either. TomTom support say it's a device IRQ conflict in Windows 7 and not their problem and I should trawl Google to find the answer. All I have found is that IRQs can't be changed in Windows 7 so I'm stuck at the moment.

    Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks but I don't give up that easy :)

    Anyone managed a workaround?

It finds my 720 with no issues. Try reinstalling home, and/or resetting your TT.

Thanks. I think I had done that once before but just tried again including running my favourite registry cleaner after uninstalling HOME. Unfortunately it didn't help.

If it is indeed an IRQ conflict as TomTom support indicate then the problen appearing will depend on individual setups. In that case I need to be able to change the IRQ as we used be able to do in the past.

Does that include resetting the TT, and what happens when you plug the TT in, is it being listed in device manager?

Yes I reset the TT and yes, it is listed in device manager.

Right clicking the TT 730 icon and clicking 'Browse Files' shows 'Removable Disk L' but it is greyed out.

In 'Properties/Hardware' it indicates 'This device is working properly'.

    UPDATE:

I have played about with Disk Management and viewed the disks in Powerdesk Pro. It seems that removable disk L: is in fact the empty SD card slot. Powedesk does not see another removable disk but Disk Management sees removable disk 4 but cannot access it. Keeps saying refresh/close and reopen disk Management or reboot, none of which makes any difference. W7 sees but cannot access the TomTom disk for some reason. I just tried on another laptop and with XP there is no problem at all. HOME works fine there!

What does it show in Devices and printers?

Sorry, see above. For Device Manager read Devices and Printers.

Not quite sure what to suggest from here, as it works for me, and when it hasn't a reset has always resolved it...
