Windows 7: Bluetooth devices

Bluetooth devices

well I didn't know where I should put this so i put it in this forum. Yesterday I started a virtual machine to test a program I thought was a virus and my bluetooth keyboard and mouse stopped working. as VMWare has done this before I removed the bluetooth dongle and expected it would reconnect, well it never did. so I ran off to get my old wired keyboard and mouse; when I investigated the problem a little more I found that I could not reconnect my keyboard and mouse at all because windows already had them connected. the keyboard and mouse themselves are completely disconnected and are in discovery mode. Windows its self will not remove the non-exsistant keyboard and mouse, and when I go and uninstall the drivers for the non-exsistant keyboard and mouse and refresh the page it gives me the green ribbon of death. i have never had an issue with my bluetooth before.

bluetooth dongle: Rocketfish Micro Bluetooth 2.1 EDR USB Adapter
bluetooth drivers: looks like generic microsoft bluetooth drivers
bluetooth keyboard and mouse: from rocketfish

cpu: core 2 duo 2.4Ghz oc 3.0
HDD: 1.5Tb Seagate
windows: windows 7 ultimate
