Windows 7 - Installed Printer Not Showing Up in Control Panel

I installed my HP Laser Jet 2100 printer using the PCL 5.0 driver. I can print to it since it shows up in the Word printer drop down menu but it doesn't show up in control panel. Why is this? As a result I can't set it to be my default printer.

In addition, some of my prior failed attempts of installing the printer also show up in word but not in control panel so I can't delete it.

The printer is connected to my computer via an installed parallel port card.

According to the instructions it says that the driver is available in Windows 7. The other drivers listed below include one that I did install. I guess I can try reinstalling. Part of the issue is that there are several failed installs which I can't delete.

Delete it from the "Device Manager"

Printers do not show up on the device manager list. What is also odd is that the printer shows up on my other PC so I can select it. I just isn't showing up on the machine to which it is attached.

Look in "Devices and Printers" instead.

Casca, that is where I have been looking. The HP printer doesn't show up. There are a couple other printers on the list, including a Lexmark network printer, but the printer actually hooked up to the computer doesn't show up. But, I can print to it. It doesn't make sense.
