I will be saving for a 128GB SSD... suggestions?

Hey guys. Seeing in the future, I want to have a nice 128GB SSD. Not too shaby in disk space BUT it's ultra fast and that's what it's appealing. I will make two partitions on this for Dual Booting.

So, what SSD do you guys suggest? Samsung? OCZ? Another one?

I want to buy it online and note that I will need some kind of adapter to put it inside my PC coz, I only have 3.5 and 5.25 inches slots. SATA is not a problem though. Still 3 more free. I don't want any RAID.

Budget : 400$ (shipping costs and adapter included)

P.S : I'm Canadian - won't buy this kind of item from eBay.

This one here gets my reccomendation.
Newegg.com - OCZ Vertex Series OCZSSD2-1VTX120G 2.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid state disk (SSD) - Solid State Disks

I've had only one problem with OCZ (doa ram) however they were quick to replace it. Their PSU's rock and their SSDs are getting top reviews. These are the faster models, revised.

The item you linked to me seems good.

    BUT!

You forgot something. I cannot buy on .COM of NewEgg. Only on .CA. And, on the Canadian version of the item... it was "desactivated" or something.

It will be back quickly -- it's a fairly new product and probably in short supply.

Since you are saving for it, one assumes that you do not need to purchase immediately. That is probably a good thing as prices will drop (although no one can predict how rapidly).

all you have to do is stay away from the jmicron controller (even the new one with 2 jmicron in one case). The controller from Intel, Samsung and the new one from the OCZ Vertex (Barefoot I think) do a much better job.

NCIX has a few SSD although I don't know if their price are competitive

    NCIX
    Tigerdirect.ca
    NewEgg.ca
    FutureShop
    BestBuy
    CanadaDirect

Pretty much the places I think of...

I just purchased an Intel x25-M 80 Gb. It is a piece of junk. I can't even install Windows 7 on it. I understand that if you have a Nvidia chipset, this SSD will not work. I found out the hard way. Intel Technical support is a complete joke. They were very unknowledgeable and unhelpful.

I will be returning the drive and wait until another company that is a little more consumer oriented to come up with a good drive.
