Windows 7: IPOD not recognized

IPOD not recognized

IPOD Classic (Firmware 2.3) is not recognized by Win 7 also not by the car plugin (Iphone
plays in the car)
Windows tries to update driver...without success.

Reinstalled Itunes and also many other tricks did not succeed.

Did a google search and found this you might want to give it a try. go into control panel> system and security>administrator tools> then double click on computer management>this brings up a new window>then on the left side click on device manager>click on the USB controller option. Find the iPod in their hopefully>right click and update> if not in their it may be one of the USB mass storage devices so update those( his wasn't but that's where Apple said it would be) then have a look in portable devices, which is further up the list of devices to be managed>then update. This worked for this person and other people who inquired about iPod not reconized by Windows Seven. Their is an easier way to get to device manager I just right click on my computer> then manage. A window will pop up select device manager. I just worte out what this member Cameronman wrote since he had several people having success with his way. Fabe

IPOD is listed nowhere.Under "other devices" I have multimedia controller and video cont. with yellow exclamation mark anad finding no updated driver.
The only item I have is IPOD services under services which is created by Itunes.

Missing usb driver and apple mobile device.
