Where can I buy a mobile AMD?

Is there any place i can buy a mobile AMD proccessor with the socket (from CPU-Z) Socket S1 (638). All the mobile processors on newegg are intel. Is it even possible to upgrade my CPU?

AMD has a "Shopping" website where you can check prices from various retailers. They do it for video cards and motherboards, and I think CPUs too. It's a pretty good search engine. Probably your best bet beyond going to eBay.

The site is at http://game.amd.com/us-en/shop_spotlight.aspx

Anything from a TL50 to a TL68 should fit the socket.

Those are pretty old CPUs (from 2007). Maybe you want to look on Ebay or Amazon.

That's a good link. The TL64 seems to be the fastest model they offer: STARMICRO INC. - Detail

Only 2.2GHz? I was looking for at least 2.6 GHz, as it wouldnt be much of an upgrade from 2.1 to 2.2

In any case, the fastest is a TL68 at 2.4GHz. That's the end of the line. Let me give you a hint: Look at an SSD instead. That will make your laptop a lot faster than a new CPU and is much easier to install.

which Mobile OS do you use?
I suppose most people on this forum are Windows power user and/or MS fan. I am curious which Mobile Operating System do you use? I really use Android myself because I find WP7 far to restrictive and lack sync-capability with Microsoft Outlook.

Didn't see a suitable place for discussions of the Windows Phone 7... Who here is going to get it? As an iPhone 3GS user, I am interested to check it out. What do you SevenForumers think? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v651/asg9000/WinPhone7images.jpg

W7 on your mobile
Just thought I would share with you, for those who don't already know, there is a nifty little package out there for your mobile phone which starts up and shuts down your phone just like W7 with the logos and sounds. You can checkout a vid of it in action on youtube at YouTube - Startup/Shutdown ...
