    4GB USB Drive reading 1.99TB

Hi, my USB Drive was reading 1.99TB when it's only 4gb. It wouldn't let me format it, so I unplugged it and plugged it back into a different USB port, now it's reading the correct size, except the name is a bunch of symbols, and it still won't format. Any ideas?

I had something similar happen on a 1GB stick a couple of years ago, it was a cheapie I'd purchased at a "bargain" price. Someone explained that the memory can go bad after being used for many cycles. (for want of a better term). I've also heard the cheap memory drives are built with used chips.

Don't know if your drive is an off brand, if not, I'd contact the manufacturer. Also, go to the manufacturers website and see if they have any formatting software for the drive.
