standard dual channel pci ide controller update

Microsoft Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller Update HP Pavilion Media Center a1600n Desktop PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English) from this website there is an outdate for it but i check fo update in device manager for this device
is it safe to download it says it will only work with vista but the version i have now works fine

Is there a question in there somewhere?

What OS are you running on the HP machine? (It's not the system listed in your Specs.) I expect that the drivers included with Win7 (if that's what you're using) should be adequate. I'd check the version, but I have no IDE drives on my PC.

Windows 8.1 Pro w/Media Center 64bit, Windows 7 HP 64bit

That update shows Jan 2007. If you system is working fine I would leave it alone.
