    Windows 7 ultimate BIOS HELP


    Hey i installed windows 7 ultimate on my pc.Now when i start i have to wait 5-10 minutes with only a black screen and a white cursor after that its fine but its killin me.I searched around for solutions and found out i may need to update my BIOS.i went to the intel site and got the self extractor for my board intel 845bg at http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=5222&ProdId=785〈=eng but every time i run it it says internal system error:there is a programming or internal error. Ive tried looking everywhere for a solution so im hoping maybe somebody has the same problem and can help thanks

    Can you boot from the dvd? can you safe boot (F8)?

    At a guess, the Windows version of the update utility doesn't support Windows 7. (The utility is from 2003.)

    You may need the DOS version. However, that requires you to boot the system from a floppy. (I imagine that you can also prepare a bootable CD or USB flash drive, but it's not something I've done lately.)
