Windows 7: Bluetooth Mouse 5000 not working

Bluetooth Mouse 5000 not working

Thinkpad X200s (most recent model) RC x64 installed. The Microsoft BT Mouse 5000 connects but does not move. It previously worked under Vista. My Blackberry 8330 does connect and work via Bluetooth (but there are two Bluetooth Peripheral Devices under other devices that are not found).

In device manager under Bluetooth radio is two drivers:
1. Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator
2. Thinkpad Bluetooth 2.1 with Enhanced Data Rate

When I move the mouse, the Bluetooth Icon and bubble comes active "A Bluetooth Device is trying to connect" and asks me for the connection code (there is none and it was already connected) -- since there is no code I try to pass it up but it wants a code.

At any rate, I'm not certain why the Bluetooth Mouse does not move.

Any ideas?

Also, what can I do about the two Bluetooth Peripheral device drivers that are not found? The same thing happened under Vista and did not seem to affect anything.

TIA

Bluetooth Mouse 5000 not working

I have this same mouse and saw the same thing. I looked up pairing for this mouse, and realized I was not putting the mouse in pairing mode correct. Once I did this it worked fine.

To pair the mouse, push and hold down the button on bottom of mouse, until light flashes green then red (I think those are the colors), once you do that go into the add new bluetooth device and add it. Once it pairs the lights will stop blinking, and mouse will start to work.

My new problem, which I am trying to resolve is that after the mouse has sat for awhile, and screen saver is on, when I go to move the mouse it doesn't work any longer, yet it is showing connected.

Restarting the computer will fix the problem.

try to grab the intelipoint driver setup for win 7, go thru install, then scroll down and search for the BT 5000. I believe this is what i had done, back in 7000. Havent gotten back to the laptop after RC to have to install it again. Tho, i can tell that MS has fooled around with the BT driver since the 7000. It actually shows up and also recognizes that i have a BT host adapter, tho like i said, i havent had the chance with RC to fool with the BT 5000. Try that driver package IP32ENGW7Beta.exe

Windows 7

Hi, I'm having a lot of difficulty trying to pair my Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook 5000 mouse. I bought the mouse last year and had no trouble automatically pairing it with Vista Ultimate on my laptop and XP on my netbook.

I just upgraded my Asus 1000HE netbook from XP to Windows 7, so did the clean install. I like Windows 7, but trying to get this mouse paired is extremely frustrating. I tried once and a logo popped up in the device manager but did not pair. After several more attempts to "add device," it still didn't work. So I looked at the forums, tried downloading intellipoint (32bit), tried holding the button on the bottom of the mouse for like 2 minutes, etc. Nothing's working and now I can't even get my netbook to recognize the mouse.

Any suggestions?

I have looking for this for a while!!! About a month ago my daughter grabbed my wireless mouse and dropped it on the tile floor… so I went to the store and got a new one… I didn’t even notice that it was Bluetooth till I had it open… so I got a dongle and it still didn’t work!!! After nearly three weeks I stumble across this and it worked… so incredibly easy… it’s a wonder it isn’t in more spots… but if you have a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook 5000 mouse you want to use with a dongle this works!!!

P.S. I feel incredibly dumb… I should have figured this one out… I guess I was just overthinking it!!!
