Windows 7 64bit Not Addressing 4GB RAM on Macbook Pro

    Hi all

I have a Macbook Pro 13 (2010) model and have just installed Windows 7 Ultimate (64). When I check the system settings it says "RAM: 4GB (3.74GB Available)" and I reckon some of that is shared with the 256MB GPU. Is there anyway to fix this so that Windows utilities the 4GB?

    Thanks.

No. If it were even possible to do I wouldn't recommend it in any circumstances because you would basically lose your graphics card which would render your system practically useless.

I have a similar setup to you (except my MacBook Unibody late 2008 is like yours except older) and I get just over 3.25GB of RAM (because 3.5GB is the maximum 7 32bit can handle minus 256MB for the GPU).

You will notice no difference from having only 3.74GB of useable RAM compared to the full 4GB, it's more than enough for most things and don't threat, that extra quarter Gigabyte's going to good use .

I wouldn't worry about it too much.
