My mouse pointer (cursor) flickers between the pointer icon and the little blue "waiting" circle icon. When I move the pointer over an active button it becomes the steady hand pointer and stops flickering. It does this with our without the hand mouse plugged in. I have uninstalled mouse drivers. I have tried to change the pointer style and it will not change. I have run virus scan and machine is clean. It seems to have something to do with the "working in background" notification.

Hi acer

Could you post a pic of your task manager>processes tab?

Just noticed that you had uninstalled the software for your mouse. Have you reinstalled the software for your mouse? I'm assuming that it is proprietary software - could you also fill in the specs for your PC/Laptop?

I have done all the normal things, restarted several times. Last week I upgraded from vista to win 7 (legit copy) All was normal till last night. I dont seem to be able to end task on anything. Another problem I have been having which seems to be a fairly common issue is that while typing the cursor jumps on it's own to a different location on the page. Went into mscomfig and disabled every thing on the start up list. Cursor sitll acting up. In the process now of reinstalling win 7. My computer is a HP dv2000. Wouldn't let me paste a screen shot so it is attached. Thanks in advance.

Hi acer

Sorry for responding very late.
Have you tried using a different mouse to check if the same issue exists?

Problem solved

The only time that the "flickering" occurred, I discovered was when after the computer had logged in. It seemed that a web site was trying over and over to connect and in the process the cpu usage went 32% to 100%. So I uninstalled the offending application and that solved the problem.

Hi,

Do you recall what the program was? I have just started to have the same flashing curser issue in the last day. When i go to a new web page and sometime when a web page refreshes, it flashes between the curser and the blue circle.

It's getting very annoying and you have to wait for it to stop before you can continue.

Any ideas welcome, and i have already tried a difference Mouse, restarting, running scans etc...nothing stops it.

Regards
