1GB ram now showing only 512MB

    Could be a bad seat or you may have had a stick go bad entirely.

    If there are two, try removing one, then swapping them and make sure they both work fine individually. Then try both again.

    my bro fixed it with removing the ram and installing it again, is it because of this?
    it might be..have you try other slots?

    when bios screen splash at the startup.depend on your MOBO. F10 i reckon. go to advanced chip settings

    p/s: I'll appreciate it if you fill your system specs.

    umm how do i get the sysytem specs? anyway, the RAM WAS WORKING PERFECTLY BEFORE ON WINDOWS ON WINDOWS 7

    I am having this same problem.I recently switched from windows 7 ultimate x64 to windows 7 ultimate x32 bit . I have 4 GB RAM usable, now it shows only 3GB as being usable...( in 32 bit windows...)

    umm i think windows 7 32-bit supports only 2GB of ram??
