disk space problem ?
Hello everyone!I've just install a fresh new copy of windows 7 ultimate after formating my entire hard-drive, which has 320 GB ( in reality about 298 GB).I created two partitions: - C ( 48.7 Gb) - which is for the os and programs - D ( the rest of space) - which is used for data storage (music, films, etc.)The problem is that, after installing updates via windows update, programs ( freeware/opensource, not cracked versions) and device drivers ( such as for printer, scanner...). I realised that drive C has now only ~7.5 GB free of 48.5 GB. But, how can you explain this, considering that those programs installed should consume less space.I've examined every subdirectory's properties of drive C and found that they should consume less than 20 GB, including the os.So where's going the rest of space? Or, by "what" is used this space. I tried using CCleaner, but it did'nt help.I've also used windows 7 disk cleanup utility. Also, it did nothing...Thank you in anticipation.
Later Edit: After receiving alert messages from Kaspersky Internet Security, saying that Helkern MSSQL (worm) intrusion was blocked ( or sth. like that) I scanned (with updated database, virus signitures) the entire computer and found nothing.
