Can you be a little more specific about your problem, what it's doing or not doing?

Do you have your monitor set to shut off after a certain period of time?

Hello JJM, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Test it with your mouse USB receiver/transmitter unplugged from your computer to see if that may be the issue. There have been issues in Vista with a wireless mouse causinf the screen saver to not work. See these two MS article to see if they be related to your issue.
