that's an old soundblaster live! with a joystick/midi port.
the motherboard probably has intergrated graphics.
you'll find the monitor output up near the usb and keyboard/mouse ports.
So if the monitor input isn't connected to a card, it's most likely integrated??
yep - the card is actually a chip built into the motherboard, and is generally not very powerful and is not much good for games.
a lot of motherboards have them, and they can normally be disabled if you want to add a proper card.
Alright, and where would I go about adding a proper card? As you can see there is not another place for a video card. Perhaps take out the networking card to free up space on the mobo?
ok - a closer look at your photos reveals that your board hasn't got a slot for a graphics card.
it looks like your soundblaster is in the top slot, where an agp or pci-e graphics slot would normally be.
it looks like you can't upgrade this motherboard's graphics.
if you only want to do internet/office-y stuff with this machine, you won't need a card anyway.
Heh, I have one more problem... This computer was in a 12 year old's room for about a year and god knows what she did to it.... When I plug it in and attempt to start it up.... This strange noise comes from the PSU... Its a beeping. Nothing shows up on the monitor, LED lights in the mouse and keyboard do not light up. What do you think?
unclip the memory sticks from the motherboard, take them out, clean the contacts.
*edit* brush everything with an old toothbrush to get rid of dust and rubbish!
plug them back in until the clips click shut.
try to boot the pc again.
i'm off to bed now as it's 1:06am in england.
if you have further problems or need more advice, post and i'm sure someone can help you.
good luck and good night.
