    Cannot detect SCSI HDDs


    hey all, i set the hotswappables in bios but windows7 wont detect the drives !!

    how can i tell windows to set drives letters after detecting them?

    Hot swappable sounds like RAID to me. Have you installed the correct RAID driver?

    Yes, but Zig is asking if you installed the drives as Redundant drives AKA RAID or are they SATA connected and you are wanting to hot swap?

    no sata isnt enabled yet.....they are redundant drives but not initialised.....would that erase my data?

I have a small media server. It's a bunch of drives in a full size tower PC, each formatted individually (i.e. no RAID - NTFS). Right now it's 6 drives, either 4TB or 3TB. I have a bunch of smaller (1.5TB and 2TB) drives that I'm not using and would like to use to have a backup of the files...
