Windows 7: re-install windows 7 on new laptop

I bought a new laptop but it did not come with a windows 7 disk, but i did find a recovery partition and an Windows 7 activation code under the laptop. Can anyone tell me how to reinstall windows 7?

1) The recovery partition will let you restore your computer to the factory default state (like when you unboxed the computer). Normally, recovery is launched by tapping F11 at boot. But different brands also may have special keys, consult your brand's manual or website. Remember to backup any data you have before launching recovery.

2) The key on the sticker on your laptop is called COA key. You need to use this key only if you plan to install from a generic Windows 7 dvd (such as a retail disk). Such an install will not have your OEM drivers, logos, bloatware etc. To activate with this key, you'll need to call MS.

Does it mean that I will loose all my data, without re-installing win 7. Because i want to loose all my data (cause i have a VIRUS). And with the help of recovery disc, i will get all the data (like when you unboxed the computer).

Yes ... the recovery partition will restore your PC to the same condition that it was shipped in... Now, when you get finished restoring you PC, make sure that you have an antivirus installed and get in the habit of making a system image of your computer ..
