Other Drives "unallocated" in Dual Boot

I have two drives C: and F: both sata. C: already had Vista installed so I shrunk that partition, created another partition on C:, then installed W7 on the new partition. It all seems to work fine accept that W7(disk management) claims my Vista partition on C: is unallocated space as is my entire F: drive. Is this meant to happen? I use the F: drive mainly for data and was hoping both Vista and W7 would have access to it. Or is that impossible?

They should not show up as unallocated and you should have access to them. Have you booted back into vista to make sure everything is Ok?.

I've just figured it out. I used BootIt as I was having trouble shrinking my partition. As part of their instructional video they suggest adding W7 to the boot menu before starting the installation. Somehow the item I added did not instruct my computer to look at my other drives as the Vista menu item already did. The only instruction it had was to look at my newly created partition. So I simply added those instructions to my W7 menu item and now it works perfectly.
