Experience with Gigabyte motherboards?

Any on have any experience with Gigabyte motherboards?

For the last 3 builds covering 10 years I’ve been using Intel’s MB, the current being their now discontinued Extreme D975XBX2 Bad Axe 2. As you can see, the board is a little long in the tooth as well as the Core 2 Quad Q6600

With that said I was really set on getting the Intel Extreme DX58SO board but it too is getting a little old, especially since some of the newer X58 boards are coming out with USB 3.0 and SATA 6, the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5 being one of them, and the one I’m currently settling for.

So, does anyone have thoughts, experiences with Gigabyte or this particular board? Please share.

BTW, here’s the parts needed for my i7 system build. Everything else will be moving from my current system.

MB - GA-X58A-UD5
CPU - Core i7-930 Bloomfield 2.8GHz
RAM - Corsair TR3X6G1600C8D Dominator 6 GB 3 x 2 GB PC3-12800 1600MHz

My first mobo was an Intel... I've no good memories... Last three ones were Gigabyte. AMD based chipsets. And, as a system builder, I can say: Gigabyte is my only choice!!!

Thanks guys. I've done some research, looked at a couple of reviews and checked some forums. So far I haven't seen any show stoppers with the UD5, so baring anymore financial deviations, I may purchase the setup next week.

BTW I'm so use to Intel's simple BIOS that I'm somewhat concerned about all the settings and tweaks involved with these new "tweak board" BIOS's. I've downloaded the mobo's owner manual to get a grip on the different settings. Any hints/tips?

I’m actually planning on doing some slight overclocking. In fact I’m doing some research on that as well. Thus the BIOS question.

Also, anyone know where/If I can get an adapter for this ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT to use with the i7 CPU?
