CD/DVD drive makes high-pitched noise

Hi guys. I've got another problem. My Lite-On iHES106-2 makes a High-Pitched noise whenever it reads data from CD.

Any idea what's going on?

Just learned that if it makes those noise like that... it will or is already dead. What the hell is going on with my computer these days?!? My music hard drive and now my CD/DVD/Blu-ray drive... GOTTA BE JOKING!!

What a pain! How old is the drive? Even if out of warranty, if not too old, contact manufacturer. Let them know, "I've hardly even used the drive. It failed way to soon, I always buy (insert manuf. name here) products and recommend them to all my friends because I've had such great luck with them. I know you are as shocked as I am that this drive failed with almost no usage. I'm hoping you can do something for me?".

If they are a good manuf., they might help you out. Couldn't hurt. A Guy

P.S. As they say, you'll catch more flies with honey...the "I'm shocked one of your products failed" approach works much better than, "your piece of....!"

It's 1 year and 2 months old. I could always try to contact Lite-On...
