I have 2 lexmark B&W laser printers I got used from eBay.

    Optra S 1250 & Optra S 1255

Very good quality B&W for business. I get about 4 months of printing from a laser cartridge, which is over 2000 pages per month.

Guys don't forget im not planning on printing colored pictures! mostly text. just think as if i want to print smth from wikipedia and its got a couple of pictures too. the pic's really don't need to be printed in color, just good resolution and definition would be great + and low ink use.

So i guess, i still don't have an answer. Also don't forget that my budget is limited to some 200 dollars only (unfortunately).

Thanx for all the answers though!

Got "Canon IP Pixma" series (good ink control integrated) and "HP Photosmart All in One C4500 wi-fi" serie, they both do a nice job for simple needs and basics photo prints.

Shop around, you'll find a nice Canon Pixma for less than $200 I am sure. As I said I got mine new on eBay and it's a wonderful machine. I can't remember exactly what I paid but is a heck of a lot less than $200.

About months ago I got a Kodak 3200 series AIO. Yes it does save lots of ink and the ink is cheep. It prints quiet well, it all depends how you set it. For quality pictures I would recommend using photo paper. I'm welled pleased. I think this printer would suit most peoples needs plus. About hundred bucks.

    mafhh,

If you're planning to do much printing, B&W laser printers probably have the lowest cost for consumables. I've had excellent service from my Brother HL-5150D. (The D is for built-in duplexer, which allow it to priint double-sided.) It's no longer made, I believe, but there are newer models that cost less much less than $200. For example:

Newegg.com - brother HL Series HL-2140 Personal Up to 23 ppm Monochrome Laser Printer

    $110 + $3 shipping. It has fully-featured Win7 drivers.

I second the motion. You'll probably get 3,000+ pages from the included toner cartridge and 5,000+ from the full-sized replacements. A B&W laser can be found for under $100. The quality is great, too. My brother HL-1440 has seen heavy use for the past six years and is only on it's second toner cartridge.

For black and white only, a $100 laser printer is probably the best choice. Just make sure that it is installed away from where people breathe because the fumes are toxic.
Else the proposed Canon Pixma series is a good option. The individual cartridges I fill myself and thus the cost of ink is negligible.

I have an HP photojet d110 series. It has WIFI and USB, card reader and the ink lasted quite awhile. I picked it up at Wal mart about 2 months ago for $99 and love it. My wife prints alot of realestate stuff and I print alot of pictures and text docs. and we just changed the ink today. Great print quality and the ink is pretty cheap as well. I paid $26 for both the color and black ink in a combo pack.

I use a Kokak ESP 3200 AIO and I think it does a great job. Uses a lot less ink than H.P. and the ink is cheep. If you want really good photos I would recommend using quality photo paper. It's around a $100.00 and goes up from there. I would buy another one if I needed it.
