    When you click on computer does it show up in there? If not it just may be hidden. Try this.

    Open "My Computer"

    From the Tools menu select "Folder Options"

    Select the View tab and, under "Advanced settings" select "Show hidden files and folders".

    Click on OK to save settings.

    You're confusing with the Device Manager!:)

    Device Manager : Hidden Devices

    Add:
    DEVMGR_SHOW_DETAILS, and set to 1
    DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES, and set to 1...

    @pablo70,

    -Did you already install some drivers for it?
    -Which brand is your USB card reader?
    -Any Card Controller in your Device Manager?

    Windows will hide the drives of a card reader until the drive has a card inserted, at which time it will appear with its own drive letter. If you want the drives to be shown all the time, do as bassfisher6522 stated.

    Sure it does, the OP is not seeing his card reader available as a drive in Computer. If his has a 5 in 1 card reader that shares slots it may show 3 empty drives but not with the do not show hidden drives selected, Windows 7 is different than the earlier OS versions which showed them by DEFAULT, as has been said if a card is inserted it will be seen, his driver is working he just could not see the available drives is how I read his post to mean.
