    Tv Tuner

Ok, I'm new to the forum and posted a couple of days ago and got no replies, I'll try to provide mroe information this time.

    Specs-
    CPU- Intel E8400 3.0
    Mobo- Gigabyte ga-73pvm-s2h
    Ram- 4gb Corsair
    Gpu- Nvidia 8600 gts (pci-e)
Tv Tuner- Hauppauge wintv 1600 hvr (pci)
Os- Dual booting windows vista ultimate x64 and windows 7 ultimate x64

So my vista works fine without any problems. After I installed windows 7 I made sure that it ran properly and then proceeded to install my tv tuner(hauppauge wintv 1600 hvr). Now when I boot into windows 7 it hangs up and failes to fully boot at the "windows loading" screen. Again, Vista has no problems. When I have the tv card installed windows 7 will not boot, when I take out the card it runs fine. Anyone else with this problem?

Did you install the drivers for the TV Tuner card? If so, go into safe mode and remove them - Windows 7 has native drivers that work perfectly fine.

Same holds true for the WinTV app - that needs to be installed in Vista compatibility mode (and even then it pretty much sucks in Win 7).

And if you want answers faster, please use a more descriptive title - just saying TV Tuner is not helpful to anyone at all, neither folks answering posts, not *future* readers looking for an answer to a problem....

    The issue has been resolved.
Quite simple fix. I booted into safemode and disabled the multimedia video controller and then booted sucessfully and then installed proper drivers.
    Thanks for the help

    Hey Alex,

I have the same problem you had with the same PCI card. I am wondering how you disabled the multimedia controller that you are talking about?

    Thanks
