Windows Explorer does not show external drive

How do I get Explorer (Windows 7 32bit) to show my Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini drive? Under drive manager - the drive is there and shows that is is working properly. Yet, I cannot get it to show in Explorer.

Now, I can connect to my other computer with XP on it and no problem!! Can anyone tell me what to do to get this showing in Windows 7 Explorer?

Thanks very much!

I just plugged back in the XP computer and formatted the drive. It shows fine in the XP, but - no go in Windows 7. Not in IE nor in Disk Mgmnt.

Also, just checked Device Manager and it doesn't show there either.

Low and behold, it just showed up in Device Manager. BUT - not in Disk Mgmnt! Strange!

OK - it's now back in Disk Mgmnt as Disk 2 Unknown and not initialized. When I try to initialize, I've used both MBR and GPT and get the same message: The system cannot find the file specified.

Anyone with ideas on what to do now?

Thanks

OK - I've finally got Windows 7 to "see" the drive in Windows Explorer and Device Manager and Disk Management. I formatted the drive in my XP machine - Problem is that it now shows as 149.05GB RAW in Windows 7 instead of NTFS. It says that I need to format the drive, when I try, it says it can't format it. Disk management is showing as Disk 2 (G
149.05 RAW
Healthy (Primary Partition).

Question for the forum members - how do I get it from RAW to NTFS if Windows 7 won't do it???

Thanks for the help!
