Strange mouse freeze

Lately, my mouse movement has been randomly freezing for about 1-2 seconds and then plays "device disconnect" sound.

It only freezes momentarily for 1-2 seconds and then starts to work normally again. It happens randomly, like it might happen a few times a week, then it might happen a few times a day.

Most notetibly was when im playing online shoot-em-up games when this happens, the mouse movement freezes disabling me to look around in-game for 1-2 seconds.

It also happens when not in-games.

My sys specs:
i5-750 @ 3.6
P55A-UD5
2x2GB Ripjaws @ 1440
TT TP 750W
GTX 295
Raptor 150GB
Sata 500GB
Logitech G11 k/b
Logitech G5 mouse (wired)
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate

This never happend when I used windows Vista.
Im guessing its either a O/S problem, or a driver problem, or a motherboard USB port problem.

This may be a sign that your mouse is going bad. I just replaced my Logitech mouse this evening; it was doing the exact same thing. I replaced a Microsoft mouse three ago with the same symptoms. If it is the mouse, it will get progressively worse and you will have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to recover.
