    Additional usb ports

Can you add usb ports via an internal "splitter cable" rather than internal/external usb hubs to a PC/Motherboard ?

My board has two additional usb slots/ports on the board. I know there are external/internal multiple port available...but is there an internal "splitter" where I can take my 2 on-board ports and slit one into 2-4 additional cables ports (still inside the box) and then run the 4 internally split connectors/ports (off one on-board port) to regular internal front or rear bay hubs ?

So...if I have one on-board port spit internally into 2-4...can I then add 2 available bay slots of up to 4 ports each...rather than limited to one 4 port internal front/bay hub if i do not split the on board port ?

Hope I am clear on this...TR

There are several ways to add USB to a PC, add on cards internally in an available slot, there are 4 in 1 splitter adapters available making 1 USB port into 4 USB ports, there are dedicated powered USB hubs giving 2-7 USB port depending on the configuration and non powered ones as well but you need to know how much power your USB ports utilize to make an educated decision on which is your best course.
