Problem with Plug&Play and installing my own drivers

Hello, i've recently installed Windows 7 and cannot get my printer (lexmark p4350) to work.

The problem is that the installation of the drivers won't continue without printer plugged in, and when I plug it in, Windows automatically installs it's own driver, which doesn't work.

I've tried disabling Plug&Play for the duration of the install process, but haven't got any luck, i'm starting to think that it is impossible on Windows 7 (i know that on Vista it was just a matter of disabling it through services.msc).

I would appreciate any ideas you might have.

Although written in response for a Vista problem with your printer the answer holds true but you will have to point it to where the driver is on your hard drive.

Thanks, but unfortunately the driver is not a "stand-alone" version, but an installation file (.exe) and OS doesn't see it as a driver.
