Solid light blue screen instead of desktop

    Thanks for the link, I have an EVGA motherboard & GPU but haven't been on their forums for ages.

    I haven't experienced the problem for a while but I do get a hang at the boot splash screen sometimes.

    Anyway, I've disabled the HD device that matches the GPU as per the instructions & will report back if it helps any.

    Ta to all those that have replied to this thread. It's a weird issue & was pretty rare when I first posted as the 470 & 480 had just been released. So now that the cards are more widely owned I can finally try this solution. :)

    Ive tried that fix.. didn't help
    From what I gather at nvidia user forums this is most likely realted to the combination of motherboard and videocard
