    Ram Problem

My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
I have a total of 8gb ram, but the computer only detects 6gb.
Would appreciate some help with this. Would be cool to be able to use all my ram.
If you need some information about my system just ask, I don't know what is nescessary to know to fix thi, but I have all my system details ready if you want to know!

    Installed Memory (RAM) 8GB

Go to system config. Go to the Boot tab. Click advanced options. See if the box next to Maximum Memory is checked. If so, uncheck it. Make sure to click the Make all Boot Options Permanent option before closing system config.

If this doesn't fix it, let me know.

Sorry For Double Post, but just found out 2058 MB of my RAM is hardware reserved?
Do I really need this much RAM for hardware? I mean the pagefile should help for that.

Did your Dell come with the 8GB or did you install it yourself?

You might want to see if there is an upgrade available for your bios on the Dell website.

Sometimes part of RAM is reserved for video. With your video card, you do not need system reserved RAM if this is the case.

Petey: It came with 8gb, and i have tried installing newest bios too, didn't do a thing.

Carl: Okey, so is there any way to access that ram for the system? Or is it impossible?

One of the hardware guys can answer this better than me. I had the same problem when I installed my video card; my system had RAM reserved for the video chip. I think I changed the settings in BIOS to fix it.
