Safe removal of network adapter (!?)

After startup i get the safe removal icon telling me that its now safe to remove my network adapter (broadcom), even though it is neither external or a USB device. Even though this is harmless its still a bit annoying, so does anyone know how to fix this apart from simply turning the notifications off? I run Windows 7 premium 32 on a compaq 615 notebook. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the windows 7 support forums,
I would suggest looking in the device manager to see if there is an indication that device appears in the manager itself. If so, disable it.

Thanks for your quick reply. I'm not sure i follow you. Disabling it will make me unable to connect to the web.

Sorry, I mis-understood your original post. Do turn off the notification.
