It looks like you messed up your URL tags. Type [ /url ] (minus) the spaces after the words you want to contain the link.

You did not list your PSU. The model number or at least the wattage will need to be known before any advice can be properly given.

Correction. I can give advice about the CPU you picked out. That CPU does not match the socket on your mobo. No new mobo, no new CPU. Sorry. Your current mobo has a AM2 socket, the processor you want requires a AM3.

MSI has a CPU support list for your motherboard:

MSI USA – Computer, Laptop, Notebook, Desktop, Mainboard, Graphics and more

There are no "Deneb" CPUs on it, so the Phenom II X4 955 isn't supported.

As regard the 9800GT, it comes with a Molex-to-PCI-E power adapter, so you may be able to support it if your PSU otherwise meets the specs. eVGA lists them:

    EVGA | Products 9 Series Family&sw=

(350W, minimum of 24A at +12V. I'm not sure why the specs at Newegg are slightly higher.)

I'm not sure that the 9800GT gives the best price/performance at the moment, but it appears to be better than some newer cards (GT240). A Radeon HD4850 would probably give better performance, but it's a bit more expensive, and may need a heftier PSU (even though it , too, uses a single PCI-E 6 pin auxiliary power connector).

All the links work just fine for me I just tried them again myself. The PSU is some off brand that says 450 watts and max 480 watts.

Now i'm very confused MSI Global – Computer, Laptop, Notebook, Desktop, Mainboard, Graphics and more

Same motherboard? But different CPU supports?

My mistake. It looked like you had written words after the link that were supposed to contain the link itself.

Some times those list of supported hard ware can be wrong. It's not hard to see that the CPU you selected requires a AM3 socket, while your board is a AM2/AM2+. Different sockets means that the new CPU probably would't even fit.

Interesting. The link I gave was to the US site, while yours is to the Global (English) site. I guess the US site hasn't been updated for a while. Looks like you're OK with the 955, if you install BIOS 9.9.

I'm happy to have been mistaken.

Now I have one of you saying it will work and the other saying it won't. Help please! Haha.

Also regarding the graphics card. So with a 450 watt PSU I can support it?

According to this list of supported processors you are out of luck with that MB.

MSI USA – Computer, Laptop, Notebook, Desktop, Mainboard, Graphics and more

It doesn't even have the athlon 7750 BE that I am currently using so I do believe that to be outdated. As bobkn was saying
