Glossy is refering to the black glossy bezel.

Not sure right off both styles are availabele but ..

The glossy screens really make the colors pop out more and look really good.

The downside is they tend to have a reflection or glare if a light source, (window or light) is shining on them and show dust and fingerprints much much easier.

The matte type screen will look a bit duller, but do not relflect light nearly as bad. Still good picture however.

Glossys still look awesome though, and Id go that route if possible.
Just be mindful of the glare they can have, you dont want a window right by it to reflect sunlight for example.
Yes, I was meaning the screen itself though.

A bit decieving in the way they advertise them at times. With LGs you can tell by the part number.
I/e a W2453V would be Matte type and W2453VG would be glossy.

Not sure how others do it though.

Likely off subject a bit :) But IMHO, if the option is available it better. Although not everyone would agree.

LED's are the shizznit. If you found one you like, definitely go for it! I only wish Samsung was making 24" LED's.
    Samsung makes 24" LED LCD's

Newegg.com - SAMSUNG BX2440X Glossy Black 24" 5ms Height & pivot adjustable stand Full HD LED Backlight LCD monitor 250 cd/m2 DC 1000000:1(1000:1)

Nice adjustable stand on that one
You realize you were not supposed to show me this? These weren't out a few months ago.

Got my Sammie 24 LED yesterday. At first I was disappointed. Pic wasn't very good out of the box compared to my other Sammie 24s (245BW). Color temperature was way off. And the preset color temps do nothing to fix this. Yellows were awfull. The whites looked anything but white. Way too much red and blue. So that means hours of tweaking which is horrible with these tiny buttons that are on the underside of the bezel.
So after a lot of frustration, I think I have the pic quality where it looks really good. Whites are really bright. Yellows are good. Color temp is still off. But I like it now. it looks better than my old Sammies. Time to get 2 more . This was on sale for 249 shipped.
I love the fact that this LED makes no heat whatsoever! It doesn't even feel warm after being on for hours. My others put out a LOT of heat. And they make a loud clicking noises when the plastic expands. I mean really loud.
Sorry, I dont mean to hijack this thread. Looking forward the the OP's review. My review sucks because I have bad writting skills.

Unfortunately this is a television panel thus the out of control color issues. And I really dislike losing vertical resolution because of the HDTV aspect ratio as well as having 1/64th the color space of a real computer monitor

Getting harder and harder to find a decent 24bit 1920x1200 panel any more... sad state of affairs actually.

Sorry guys , forgot to update the thread.

So I have had it a couple of days now , the detail and quality of the picture is awesome compared to anything I have had before!

It like having a new pc for me.

Nice looking thing , touch buttons along the bottom , only 17.5mm thick!

Gives off absolutely no heat what so ever.

I am really happy with it , it took me a little while to get the colour sorted out but I think its all good now.

Sorry , not had chance to take any pics as I promised , but its square and has a stand and has some wires coming out the back

    Cheers

    Paul.

Managed to get my hands on a nice 20.1" HP LP2065 monitor for £20! Cheapest one on ebay is £200.

Have set up dual monitor and extended the desktop so the HP is used as a screen for monitoring stuff like temps etc when gaming.

Lots of screen to look at now lol

1 pic , not the best pic I know
