Bluetooth Adapter:

Hiii.

I have recently purchased a Bluetooth dongle (it's tiny), because I lost the 1st one.

When I bought first dongle, I had to spend hours and hours installing, uninstalling drivers etc.. because there was no driver CD and I had to search myself. Also the dongle didn't have any brand mark on it or the packaging. I tried BlueSoleil and have never experienced a worst piece of software in my entire life, Broadcom drivers wouldn't work either. But somehow, I managed to get it working and got it connected with my Nokia mobile (6233) and everything was great.

Then I lost it, I bought this new adapter. It isn't the same and again I'm going through the same trouble. I've tried BlueSoleil but it's sh#t like always, doesn't even work properly, Broadcom won't find the dongle. The bluetooth on the notifications pops up thought but it won't find or recieve from my phone. Searched for drivers with no luck. The brand name was RTCC or something but I can't remember specifically cuz someone threw the packagaing away (again without CD).

I have no idea what I did to fix the first one and I can't get this stupid thing to work!!!! I'm using Windows 7, Windows Update won't find drivers for it also..

Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Telefang and welcome to Windows 7 Forums

Are there any identifying numbers on the adapter, such as a Serial Number? Please post back with as much info as you can.

Hi again.

So I looked and:

Manufacturer: CSR plc

Hardware LDS: USB\VID_0A12&PID_0001&REV_3164 .. checked this out and it said:

"Cambridge Silicon Radio / BILLIONTON SYSTEMS, INC.
Cambridge Silicon Radio / IVT corporation
Cambridge Silicon Radio / Integrated System Solution Corp.
Cambridge Silicon Radio / Mavin Technology Inc.
Cambridge Silicon Radio / QCOM TECHNOLOGY INC.
Cambridge Silicon Radio / QINGDAO GOERTEK ELECTRONICS CO.,LTD.
Cambridge Silicon Radio / ShenZhen XinHuaTong Opto Electronics Co.,Ltd
Cambridge Silicon Radio / Solacom Technologies Inc.
Cambridge Silicon Radio / TDK CORPORATION
Cambridge Silicon Radio / Vencer Co., Ltd."

and the serial number of the adapter listed was KB-A100 although when looked on google images, this is NOT the dongle that I have!!

Please don't make me use that BlueSoleil, PLEASE, ANYTHING BUT THAT!!

Hi,

Thanks for the extra info. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything with the VID and PID you quoted (see Hardware Identification). It could be that the VID/PID combination is not on their database (yet).

You could try this (at your own risk). Normally, I don't recommend this sort of thing, but I can't think of anything else. Of course, if anyone else has any ideas, please feel free to chip-in.

Installed it, but now it goes to Driver Software Installation.

All of them are either DEVICE UNPLUGGED or FAILED, and the device IS plugged, the bluetooth icon even shows in the corner..
