Cannot Install Windows 7 HELP!

Hi everyone. OK so a bit new to all this so if anyone can help can they explain in simple terms please

Anyway, I've just tried to download the new Windows 7 and im having serious problems with it.

I keep getting this message:
The application cannot find one of its required fields, possibly because it was unable to create it in the folder. Please make sure that the folder in which this application was downloaded is accessible and not read-only.

Im not quite sure what it means by this but i need the help ASAP as im moving house soon and do not know when i will next have access to internet :s

The version ive tried to download by the way is Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

If anyone needs more info please feel free to ask

Welcome Mandy,

Where are you downloading from? What type of file is it ? (ie: .iso file) ?

Have you read our questions list for installing ?

Most win7 install DVD's or USB flash drives are made from .iso files

Some of those where .exe files. There is a tutorial on SevenForums how to convert it to an install DVD. I'll try to look for it.

Did you already purchase Win7 online and have they send you the email with Product Key?

If so, I would go back to the online store and download an ISO to burn to DVD using ImgBurn at 4x speed.

If this is Digital River then MS has already corrected the situation with their failure to provide an ISO here: Microsoft Fixes Windows 7 Student Edition Upgrade Problems
