after i installed windows 7 now the display is not taken up the whole screen on my laptop any ideas.

Change the resouluton
Try the maximum resoulution for your computer
control panels>
personalize>
display settings
yes i did reboot. thanks for your help. its just odd that its not taken up the whole screen.
I really want to help you with this.
Make sure you have the most current driver. Go to device manager, make sure you are up to dated.
Ok i did update the drivers and still the same issue.
Look over your display control panel accessed by Control Panel or in Device Manager>Display listing.
Fill in your system specs or at least report back your video card/chip and driver version.
Did you check your manufacturer's support download page for laptop and vid card?

We still have no system specs for you so we can advise you how to adjust your display settings.
At least tell us what your video card is so we can look it up for you using a remarkable tool named Google.
Did you check in the Control Panel to see if the video card control panel is listed there, or on the Properties page of your display adapter?
