Dual boot got messed up somehow

Long story short, my XP/7 dual boot is no longer working due to the fact that whenever I reboot, 7 automatically loads instead of giving me the option to choose XP or 7. I loaded up EasyBCD 2.0, and I found that the XP boot entry was absent for some reason. Without spending time trying to find out why it was like this all of a sudden, I tried adding the boot entry back. EasyBCD said it detected the XP drive and automatically made an boot entry, so I re-installed the Vista/7 bootloader, saved, and rebooted.

What happened? 7 automatically booted up again. So I went back into EasyBCD, and the XP boot entry was gone again. Quite frankly, I'm at a complete loss. Has anyone else had this issue before?

I suspect your problem is that you reinstalled the 7 boot loader. Create a new entry for XP, but don't do anything else.

Thanks for reporting, and the rep. Glad it worked for you.

I'll ask the mods to mark this as solved.
