Right i have a key for windows 7 for a new machine,

now if i get a hold of the 64bit disc, can i use the product key from the 32 to activate it?

Hey and thanks,
i was worried id be stuck with a machine with 6gb of RAM and no way to use it XD
Oh right,
see they arent,
i got my code from a microsoft university collaboration scheme,
and i have been given a 32 code and a download for the 32bit version,
but i can also download the 64 bit version although the code says 32,
does that mean it is only the 32bit it will work with?
btw this is completely legit, i am doing no illegal downloading
haha i s'pose it is XD
oh well if it fails looks like ill be forking out all that money for a proper copy :/
I'm amazed at how often this is asked, despite the fact the keys worked for either platform in Vista as well.
Anyway, as for the OEM license, those keys works with either platform as well. I've been able to swap x86 to x64 on several OEM laptops that the owners have upgraded from 2 GB to 4 GB of memory.
