Installation Issues: Interface won't appear

Hi everyone,
I'm attempting to install Windows 7 x64 RC on my computer, and I have run into the exact same issue I had with the beta version of it. When I boot into the disk/usb(I tried both burning it to a disk and making a bootable usb drive), I get the "Windows is loading files" message, and the bar fills. Then I get the "Starting Windows" while the icon appears. After that, a blue background image(with like snowflakes or something on it, not just the BSoD) appears, along with the mouse cursor and the "thinking" circle. Eventually the "thinking" circle goes away, and I am left with just a cursor on a blue screen.

No interface appears to start the installation process. I hit shift+F10 to get the command prompt up, which worked, and I tried to run Setup.exe, but upon running it, nothing happens, I am stuck with just a cursor and a Blue background image.

If I try running the "Setup.exe" from the disk while booted into Windows XP, I get an "This is not a valid Win32 executable" error.

Has anybody had an issue like this before? I am very confused on what could be causing this. I don't think it could be my burner or USB configuration as I have installed 32bit Windows 7 beta on a different computer using the USB and it worked fine.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

EDIT: Wow... I looked for an Installation specific forum and I didn't see one until after I posted. Sorry I missed it, feel free to move this.

had same problem

Saw that problem myself. Just leave it at that screen, the menu eventually appears. Took 10-15 min for me. Very slow install after that, but 7 is running fine after install. I think my problem is related to the ASUS motherboard I am using.

Windows 7 doesn't use an interface. Don't you have the Neural USB Interface connected?!?

Uh, right.

This sounds like a hardware/computability issue. Check the requirements against your setup;
  • 1GHz processor (32- or 64-bit)
  • 1GB of main memory
  • 16GB of available disk space
  • Support for DX9 graphics with 128MB of memory (for the Aero interface)
Also make sure you can run the x64 version. Might be helpful to fill out your system specs so we can better troubleshoot your particular issue.

I have the same problem

Well kinda, it takes long before it shows up and the install fails. It didn't do this in previous builds.

I don't think its a hardware issue but I'll list my specs anyway.

intel Core2Quad Q6600 @ 2.8ghz
6gb PC-6400 DDR2 ram
2X 7200rpm 320GB HDD
Nvidia 8800gts 320mb
Gigabyte P35-DS3R motherboard.

It is x64 compatible, it will stop you before the point I reach if it isn't

I guess I'll let it wait and see if it works, but if it doesn't what else could it be?

Well that was it! I put the disk in, started my computer, went to go get some food and when I got back home the menu had finally loaded. Installation went slow but problem free and is completely installed now. Thanks a lot!
