Copy the files out using Hiren's or this method: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console - Windows 7 Forums.url
Delete the partition to create and format a new one in Disk Mgmt, then replace the files.
The partition table is slightly different in XP which can sometimes cause these problems.
