    2GB ram won't work on Windows 7

    Hi everyone,
first i had a problem on my 4.1 speakers soundblaster live on W7, but it solved thanks apollodominion and stormy13 for the great help.

Now im facing another f**** problem (sorry my words but its getting my nervs),
Windows 7 doesn't work whit my 2GB ram (2x 1GB 400mhz)since i aquired them, after instalation keeps crashing errors memory and then auto-reboot over and over...

I googled it and seems im not the only one having this problem, ive searched here didn't found the solution, i wonder if anyone have a tip or tips to solve this problem.

    Thanks,
    Flip

theyre tested and fine, it works on xp both of them. and works independently on W7, like ive tried 1gb only, on win7 and works. so the main problem is working both, i want to use 2GB, not only one.

We need to know your specs for the system that you are running windows seven on. When you say the ram has been tested to work together with xp was that on this computer? Can you confirm that all your memory slots are working with the memory installed? Good luck to you with your problem.

it may seems compatibility on win 7 whit 2gb but i dont know wheres the solution.
i never had problem slots, i tested whit 1gb and 512mb together and it works fine on win7.

You could try this tutorial to see if it is a hardware problem.

How many ram slots does it have on the motherboard, which slots does it say to use, as in 1 and 3 or 1 and 2. It does make a difference where they are put

You may want to try this first, try one stick in the first slot, boot see if it boots ok, take that stick out and put the other stick in first slot, boot ok, also are they a matched pair, exactly then give us the results

    P"S I really don't think it's a Win 7 problem

It must be something with that computer because I have bunch of computers with 2 GB of DDR 400 RAM in combination of 1 GB sticks running Windows 7 x64 and x86 and they all run just fine. Have you tried updating the BIOS (sometimes this causes compatibility issues)?
