Trying to install XP with 7 installed, but no partition displayed

When I try to install XP, with 7 already installed, no partition is displayed. The only thing displayed is my external hard disk (though not when I unplug it) , when it lists a bunch of unnamed, empty disks.
I have a 10gb partition listed as O and named XP Disk that shows up in win 7,but not when isntalling XP

Any help?

How did you make this partition? Is it on the same HD as Windows 7?

Try deleting it, and create it again in the same space from the booted XP install CD, then full format NTFS.

The partition table in XP is slightly different.

Sorry, I solved this about an hour ago. Had to slipstream SATA drivers to the install disk.
