    Windows 7 ISO

Hi, i just got the Win 7 ISO of my friend so that i can resintall the O/S on my laptop to get rid of all the Acer bloatware, and it does say on another forums that i can use my OEM key to activate home premium on the retail version.

But when i go through the instalation it say the only editions i can install are Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit or 64bit version.

But i need the Home Premium 64bit edition.

Another problem is that there is no ei.cfg file in \sources\

i was going to delete the ei.cfg file until there was no file there. Deleteing the ei.cfg file should of enabled you to install any edition of Windows 7 during the setup.

    Please help. Thanks

Before you do a complete reinstall, look at this software: PC Decrapifier
I use that for almost 3 years to get rid of bloat ware on OEM installations
Occasionally it struggles with NIS (because it anchors itself so deep in the system but for that you can use, as intended, the uninstaller from Symantec: Norton Removal Tool.

I don't know how to add Home Premium x64 to the index, i just have the 1 iso file and this is the only one i got, but it only contains windows ultimate 64bit and 32bit, none of the other edition's which is very fustrateing. My key won't work with Ultimate. Only Home Prem

If there is no ei.cfg file to extract from ISO then you'll have to find an .ISO which has one, or for Home Premium 64.

You may have a modded ISO. I would rightclick scan with AV and check HASH against official if you downloaded it.

Try this on the ISO itself: Ei.cfg Removal Utility Lets You Use Any Product Key With Your Windows 7 Disc
