what to do w/o installation disc? I want to format my HD, but downloaded windows 7 because i'm impatient.. i know you can't do it without the disc, but is there anything to do about it?

You don't have to reinstall Vista to clean reinstall your Windows 7 Upgrade version. Just boot from the DVD and it will see the old Windows 7 on there and allow use of Upgrade version key.
Find the file you downloaded and we will help you burn an .iso (image file) to DVD using ImgBurn.
If you can't find the download, go back to the site and download it again.
Do you still have the Product Key. If not, then you've lost out unless the vendor will look it up for you.
If you have the Product Key, then you can use any retail Windows 7 installer of that version to reinstall. | My System Specs | | |
