Windows 7 Installs & completes the setup very well but doesn't boot

I had Intel DG31PR motherboard and I recently changed it to a Intel DG41RG board. I intalled Windows 7 and it worked very well with DG31PR but when I try to intall it with DG41RQ the setup completes successfully(it boots itself from hard disk during installation several times without any problem) and when Windows 7 tries to boot itself for the first time it fails. After loading BIOS I get a blank screen. It happens with both x64 & x32 but other windows such as XP and Vista works fine. I tried my copy of Windows 7 with several other computers including one having Core i3,DH55TC and windows 7 installs and works in them very well. I tried 2 genuine DG41RQ motherbords but the problems persists..

I hope somebody can give me a solution for this one. I'm really helpless here

could be a storage driver (RAID) or video driver. if the setup completes have you tried a safe boot (F8)?

Wish you had tried to start up your old Win7 on the new mobo as it will start surprisingly often.

Make sure you have latest BIOS version update, or reset the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

Set the SATA controller to AHCI first, then IDE if necessary.

Swap your RAM sticks, test your RAM with memtest86 for 5-6 passes.

Unplug all USB devices and all other HD's except target HD. Wipe the HD before install: SSD / HDD : Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

Test your HD with maker's HD diag/repair CD scan: Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp.

This fail is often during the driver-loading phase and involves the video card driver. See if you can boot into Safe Mode to install display driver. Can you try another video card, or default to onboard graphics?

setup completes. that means "Windows is finalizing" completes. after the installation it doesn't boot. so i cant get to the boot options even to do F8. I get stuck before that !!

Sorry to belabor it, but are you tapping the F8 key repeatedly from the time BIOS posts?

If setup completes, you can often get into Safe Mode to install suspect drivers.

If not, work through the steps given and let us know your progress.

@ grerocker : I tried the Windows 7 RC build 7100 x64 and surprisingly it worked. since the version has expired i couldnt use it. now the problem is with the other Win 7 copy I have. It works everywhere except for my DG41RQ. I did everything you said prior to posting this. Memory, HD are all fine. I downloaded latest BIOS yesterday. I dont know whether it will work or not !

From a reputable retailer or MS online to download and burn to DVD.

Be sure to wipe the HD before installing as you may have infected code from a cracktivated Win7.

No further discussion of pirated copies of Win7 can continue here.
