Why can't I do a clean install?

    Wait it out, I really think you have a hardware problem somewhere that has put all this into

    the light on the screen is orange, i push the button and it goes green then back to orange and says "no signal" like when i used to turn it off

    hardware issues, like something is wronf with the MB? Or something else

    It's almost like the computer has gone into sleep or hibernate mode

    What if you move the mouse arround or tap the spacebar a few times ?

    Wierd..
    Just got the dvd out of the dvd driver thingy and now the screen turned back on and is at the same spot (completing installation)
    could this be a sign? Hmmm

    Oh the mouse moving/clicking or keyboard typing didnt do anything but the opening of the dvd drive did!

    About a month ago it took me 12 hours to image a 80gb laptop drive to an ext HD, & then reinstall to a new 250gb HD. But it worked perfectly when finished.

    :P computers are so unpredictable sometimes. Like now! I was on xbox or 15 mins and went to check up on my comp and i walk in to "wimdows is starting up" with the logo.. Good thing you told me to wait it out lol

    Hmm okay i think i figured it out. "windows will restart several times during this process" is what the disc says during installation. Since it takes forever for the disc to respond on my comp, i thnk that when the screen "turns off" it is really restarting but taking forever to do so.. So thts why the screen turns off
