Windows 7: Non-ACPI Compliant System

Non-ACPI Compliant System

While attempting to install Windows 7, the setup says:
This computer is not compliant with the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) standard. Windows must be installed onto a computer that supports ACPI. Contact your computer manufacturer for a BIOS update or install Windows on an ACPI-compliant computer.

When I go to MSI's site, I can't use their Bios updating software for some reasons. Any Help?

I can't even find that model listed in their archives which is a little odd if you didn't mistype the model number in your system specs like Socket 476 actually 478 for the MSI-6580 model number there. The archives are seen at MSI -- MICRO-STAR INT'L CO., LTD.

So I found my manual and was reading through it and discovered that the Motherboard itself is noncompliant, and there's nothing I can do about it. Thanks for your time. ^_^

Sorry to hear it but at least you now have something to look into for the next system you end up with ahead of time. That can be a big help before finding something out later after you have spent time and money only to get into something you won't want.
