Stuck in an endless installation loop !

I'm attempting to do a clean 64 install. It seems great for a while, it "checks off" Coping files, then Expanding windows files, then, Installing features and finally checks off Installing updates, then next it states it must restart (before it goes to the "Complete installation"). So it restarts,,,, but goes into the install process again... asks me what language, do I accept the terms, which drive - all of this again, then goes into Copying files, expanding windows files...everything all over again...just like "Groundhog Day" How do I escape this? I have an intel DP35DP mb, 2 duo core proc. Does anyone know how to help with this issue?

Couple of things I can think of...

Maybe it's having issues copying a file during installing updates and setup fails. Though I would presume you would get some type of error message if this is the case.

Try doing it with "Do not get the latest updates for installation".

If you're installing from a DVD, maybe it didn't burn correctly and its causing setup to fail when it tries to read something off the disk at that point. Again, I would presume some type of error message.

Maybe it's getting it's drives mixed up. It installs it on partition A then tries to boot off B, see's that Windows 7 is not there and runs setup again.

Try changing your bios boot order to Hard disk 1st boot device.

Didn't think of that but wouldn't she have to "press any key to boot from cd..." to start setup again?

How do you know she used a cd?

I don't get an error message. I copied @ 4x speed on a dvd, 2 different times and verified data.
I'll change the bios, to see what happens.
